Why Cybersecurity?
Over the past six years, the number of cybersecurity jobs has risen by 94%. If you’re interested in a career that is always changing and evolving, the perfect time is now to pursue a career in cybersecurity. There are many opportunities for career advancement in cybersecurity, which is a rapidly growing industry. Cyberseek reports that there are almost 500,000 job positions. What do cybersecurity workers prefer-a degree or certifications?
The cost of a cybersecurity degree is higher than a certification, and it takes more time. The degree provides a broad range of understanding that can be applied to many different industries but has fewer hands-on skills.
You can demonstrate that you have the skill an employer is looking for by getting the right certification. There is also a legal requirement (see above). This is why 70% of cybersecurity workers believe that certifications are essential for their professional development. Only 10% said they have a bachelor’s degree while 5% said they have a master’s degree.

Can I really finish the training in 5 weeks?
Microsoft and the Computing Technology Industry Association, (CompTIA), are internationally recognized industry representatives who developed the Cyber Security IT Professional program curriculum, which is designed to complete your training in five weeks (or ten weeks if you choose evening classes). They also created the hands-on labs.
How can I get a job in Cybersecurity without a degree
CompTIA Cybersecurity+ and CompTIA Net+ are two of the most important certifications that you’ll need, if you’re new to cybersecurity. This is because of a less-known government regulation, DOD-8570. (Technically, it has been updated to DOD-8140, but that uses the old DOD-8570 chart). It states that if you are in a position where you might be exposed to sensitive government data, then you must have at least one of the certifications they have listed for that position. Typically the minimum asked for is CompTIA Security+. This certification is requested by companies even if they will not work for the government. You should be able to get a job if you have these certifications.
