Why Should I Train For Cybersecurity?
The number of cybersecurity jobs increased by 94% in the last six years. If you are looking for a career with a high degree of flexibility and change, then cybersecurity is the right career choice. Cybersecurity is a fast-growing industry that offers many career opportunities. Cyberseek estimates that there are nearly 500,000 job opportunities. In the Tampa / St.Petersburg / Clearwater job market, for instance, there are over 6,000 job openings. Cybersecurity professionals are always in high demand.
Degree vs Certifications
A degree in cybersecurity is more expensive than a certification and takes much longer. The degree provides a broad range of understanding that can be applied to many different industries but has fewer hands-on skills.
The right certification demonstrates that you have a specific skill the employer wants. The law also requires you to have the right certification (see above). This is why 70% of cybersecurity workers believe that certifications are essential for their professional development. Only 10% of respondents said they had a bachelor’s or master’s degree, while 5% said they had a combination.
What is the Average Income in Cybersecurity?
On February 20, 2021, the average cybersecurity professional salary in America was $112974. The average cybersecurity salary is between $65,000 (25th%) to $145,000. (75th%) Entry-level positions have lower salaries, but offer great opportunities for advancement and increased responsibility.
Can I really finish the training in 5 weeks?
Microsoft and the Computing Technology Industry Association, (CompTIA), are internationally recognized industry representatives who developed the Cyber Security IT Professional program curriculum, which is designed to complete your training in five weeks (or ten weeks if you choose evening classes). They also created the hands-on labs.
How can I get a job in Cybersecurity without a degree
CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, are the most essential certifications you will need if your new to cybersecurity. This is because of a less-known government regulation, DOD-8570. Although technically it has been updated as DOD-8140, the chart used the DOD-8570 old format. You need at least one of these certifications if your position might expose you to sensitive government information. CompTIA Security+ usually is the minimum certification required. This certification is required by even companies that are not going to work with the government. You should be able to get a job if you have these certifications.
