Why Should I Train For Cybersecurity?
In the last six years, cybersecurity jobs have seen a 94% increase. If you are looking for a career with a high degree of flexibility and change, then cybersecurity is the right career choice. There are many jobs in cybersecurity that can offer career growth opportunities. Cyberseek estimates that there are nearly 500,000 job opportunities. Clearwater, Tampa, St.Petersburg, and Clearwater have over 6,000 job vacancies. This means that cybersecurity professionals should always be in demand.
Which should you get for cybersecurity-A degree or Certifications?
A cybersecurity degree costs more than a certification and takes longer. The degree provides a broad range of understanding that can be applied to many different industries but has fewer hands-on skills.
Employers want to see that you have the right certification. Also, there is a legal requirement (see above). This is why 70% of cybersecurity workers believe that certifications are essential for their professional development. Only 10% said they had a bachelor’s and 5% said that they had a master’s.
What is the Average Income in Cybersecurity?
The average salary of cybersecurity professionals in the United States was $112,974 on February 20, 2021. The average cybersecurity salary ranges from $65,000 (25th%) up to $145,000. (75th%) Entry-level positions typically have lower salaries but offer excellent work opportunities with increased responsibility and upward mobility.
How can I get trained in just 5 weeks?
Microsoft and the Computing Technology Industry Association, (CompTIA), are internationally recognized industry representatives who developed the Cyber Security IT Professional program curriculum, which is designed to complete your training in five weeks (or ten weeks if you choose evening classes). They also created the hands-on labs.
How Can I Get Hired in Cybersecurity Even Without a Degree?
CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ are the most important certifications you need if you are brand new to cybersecurity. Here is why: There is a little-known government regulation called DOD-8570. It has been technically updated to DOD-8140. However, it still uses the DOD-8570 chart. It states that if you are in a position where you might be exposed to sensitive government data, then you must have at least one of the certifications they have listed for that position. Typically the minimum asked for is CompTIA Security+. This certification is required by even companies that are not going to work with the government. You should be able to get a job if you have these certifications.
