Which should you get for cybersecurity-A degree or Certifications?
The cost of a cybersecurity degree is higher than a certification, and it takes more time. The degree provides a broad range of understanding that can be applied to many different industries but has fewer hands-on skills.
A certification shows that you are able to demonstrate the skills employers require. You must also meet a legal requirement (see above). How can I get a job in Cybersecurity without a degree
CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Network+ are the most crucial certifications you’ll need if cybersecurity is your first topic. Here’s why: A little-known regulation by the government is DOD-8570. Technically, it has been updated by DOD-8140 but still uses the DOD-8570 chart. You must hold at least one certification if you’re in a situation where sensitive government data might be available to you. CompTIA Security+ is the minimum requirement. Even companies that do not work with government agencies are required to obtain this certification. These certifications will make you highly sought-after and should not be a problem to get placed.
