Why Should I Train For Cybersecurity?
In the last six years, cybersecurity jobs have seen a 94% increase. If you’re looking for a career in cybersecurity, now is the right time. Cybersecurity is a fast-growing industry that offers many career opportunities. Cyberseek says there are almost 500k job openings. For example, the Tampa / St.Petersburg/ Clearwater job market has over 6,000 open positions. This means cybersecurity professionals will always be in high demand.
What gets you a job faster in cybersecurity-a degree or certifications
A degree in cybersecurity is more expensive than a certification and takes much longer. While the degree offers a wide range of knowledge that can be applied in many industries, it has less hands-on skills.
Employers want to see that you have the right certification. You must also meet a legal requirement (see above). Because of all this, according to a recent Information Week’s, Dark Reading salary survey, 70% of workers in cybersecurity said certifications were the most important training in developing their career. Only 10% said they had a bachelor’s and 5% said that they had a master’s.
What is the Average Income in Cybersecurity?
The average salary of cybersecurity professionals in the United States was $112,974 on February 20, 2021. The average cybersecurity salary ranges between $65,000 (25%%) and $145,000 (15%). (75th%) Entry levels typically have lower salaries but offer exceptional work opportunities with greater responsibility and higher mobility.
Can I really finish the training in 5 weeks?
Our Cyber Security IT Professional program is designed to do just that. The curriculum and hands-on labs are developed by Microsoft and the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) – globally recognized industry representatives.
How Can I Get Hired in Cybersecurity Even Without a Degree?
CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, are the most essential certifications you will need if your new to cybersecurity. This is because of a less-known government regulation, DOD-8570. Although technically it has been updated as DOD-8140, the chart used the DOD-8570 old format. You need at least one of these certifications if your position might expose you to sensitive government information. CompTIA Security+ usually is the minimum certification required. This certification is required by even companies that are not going to work with the government. You should be able to get a job if you have these certifications.
