Is Cybersecurity a Good Career?
In the last six years, cybersecurity jobs have seen a 94% increase. If you’re looking for a career in cybersecurity, now is the right time. There are many jobs in cybersecurity that can offer career growth opportunities. Cyberseek estimates that there are nearly 500,000 job opportunities. Clearwater, Tampa, St.Petersburg, and Clearwater have over 6,000 job vacancies. These numbers indicate that cybersecurity professionals must always be in demand.
What gets you a job faster in cybersecurity-a degree or certifications
While a certificate is cheaper than a degree in cybersecurity, it takes longer and costs more. The degree is more general and can be applied to many industries. However, it requires less practical skills.
The right certification demonstrates that you have a specific skill the employer wants. You must also meet a legal requirement (see above). According to Information Week’s Dark Reading salary survey, 70% said that certifications are the most important training for their careers. Only 10% of respondents said they had a bachelor’s or master’s degree, while 5% said they had a combination.
What is the Average Salary in Cybersecurity?
On February 20, 2019, the average salary for cybersecurity professionals was $112974 in the United States. The average cybersecurity salary ranges from $65,000 (25th%) up to $145,000. (75th%) Entry-level roles typically have lower wages but offer more opportunities for growth and responsibility.
How can I get trained in just 5 weeks?
Our Cyber Security IT Professional program is designed to do just that. The curriculum and hands-on labs are developed by Microsoft and the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) – globally recognized industry representatives.
How can I get hired as a Cybersecurity professional without a degree?
CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Network+ are the most crucial certifications you’ll need if cybersecurity is your first topic. Here is why: There is a little-known government regulation called DOD-8570. It has been technically updated to DOD-8140. However, it still uses the DOD-8570 chart. The document states that you need to have at least one certification if you are in a job that could expose you to sensitive data. CompTIA Security+ is the minimum requirement. Even companies that do not work with government agencies are required to obtain this certification. If you get these certifications, the demand for your skills is very strong and you should have no problem getting placed.
