Why Should I Go Into A Cybersecurity Career?
The number of cybersecurity jobs increased by 94% in the last six years. If you are looking for a career with a high degree of flexibility and change, then cybersecurity is the right career choice. Cybersecurity is an expanding industry that offers many different job opportunities and great career prospects. Cyberseek claims that there are over 500,000 job openings. Clearwater, Tampa, St.Petersburg, and Clearwater have over 6,000 job vacancies. These numbers indicate that cybersecurity professionals must always be in demand.
What do cybersecurity workers prefer-a degree or certifications?
A degree in cybersecurity is more expensive than a certification and takes much longer. The degree provides a broad range of understanding that can be applied to many different industries but has fewer hands-on skills.
Employers want to see that you have the right certification. You must also meet a legal requirement (see above). Because of all this, according to a recent Information Week’s, Dark Reading salary survey, 70% of workers in cybersecurity said certifications were the most important training in developing their career. Only 10% said they had a bachelor’s and 5% said that they had a master’s.
How Much Can I Earn In A Cybersecurity Career?
The average salary of cybersecurity professionals in the United States was $112,974 on February 20, 2021. The average cybersecurity salary ranges between $65,000 (25%%) and $145,000 (15%). (75th%) Entry levels typically have lower salaries but offer exceptional work opportunities with greater responsibility and higher mobility.
How can I get trained in just 5 weeks?
Our Cyber Security IT Professional program is designed to do just that. The curriculum and hands-on labs are developed by Microsoft and the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) – globally recognized industry representatives.
How can I get a job in Cybersecurity without a degree
CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ are the most important certifications you need if you are brand new to cybersecurity. This is because of a less-known government regulation, DOD-8570. (Technically, it has been updated to DOD-8140, but that uses the old DOD-8570 chart). The document states that you need to have at least one certification if you are in a job that could expose you to sensitive data. CompTIA Security+ usually is the minimum certification required. This certification is required by even companies that are not going to work with the government. If you get these certifications, the demand for your skills is very strong and you should have no problem getting placed.
