Is Cybersecurity a Good Career?
The number of cybersecurity jobs has increased by 94% over the last six years. If you are interested in a career that is constantly evolving and changing, this is the time to start a career as a cybersecurity professional. There are many jobs in cybersecurity that can offer career growth opportunities. Cyberseek reports that there are almost 500,000 job positions. Clearwater, Tampa, St.Petersburg, and Clearwater have over 6,000 job vacancies. This means cybersecurity professionals will always be in high demand.
Degree vs Certifications
While a certificate is cheaper than a degree in cybersecurity, it takes longer and costs more. The degree is more general and can be applied to many industries. However, it requires less practical skills.
Employers want to see that you have the right certification. Also, there is a legal requirement (see above). According to Information Week’s Dark Reading salary survey, 70% said that certifications are the most important training for their careers. Only 10% of respondents said they had a bachelor’s or master’s degree, while 5% said they had a combination.

On February 20, 2019, the average salary for cybersecurity professionals was $112974 in the United States. The average cybersecurity salary is between $65,000 (25th%) to $145,000. (75th%) Entry-level positions typically have lower salaries but offer excellent work opportunities with increased responsibility and upward mobility.
How can I get trained in just 5 weeks?
Microsoft and the Computing Technology Industry Association, (CompTIA), are internationally recognized industry representatives who developed the Cyber Security IT Professional program curriculum, which is designed to complete your training in five weeks (or ten weeks if you choose evening classes). They also created the hands-on labs.
How can I get a job in Cybersecurity without a degree
CompTIA Cybersecurity+ and CompTIA Net+ are two of the most important certifications that you’ll need, if you’re new to cybersecurity. This is why: The DOD-8570 regulation is a lesser-known government regulation. It has been technically updated to DOD-8140. However, it still uses the DOD-8570 chart. The document states that you need to have at least one certification if you are in a job that could expose you to sensitive data. CompTIA Security+ is the minimum requirement. Even companies that will never work with the government are asking for this certification. If you get these certifications, the demand for your skills is very strong and you should have no problem getting placed.
