Why Should I Go Into A Cybersecurity Career?
Over the past six years, cybersecurity jobs have increased by 94%. If you are interested in a career that is constantly evolving and changing, this is the time to start a career as a cybersecurity professional. Cybersecurity is an expanding industry that offers many different job opportunities and great career prospects. Cyberseek says there are almost 500k job openings. For example, the Tampa / St.Petersburg/ Clearwater job market has over 6,000 open positions. This means that cybersecurity professionals need to be available at all times.
What do cybersecurity workers prefer-a degree or certifications?
While a certificate is cheaper than a degree in cybersecurity, it takes longer and costs more. Although the degree gives you a broad understanding that can be used in many industries, it does not have as many hands-on skills.
Employers want to see that you have the right certification. You must also meet a legal requirement (see above). All this is why, according to the recent Information Week Dark Reading salary survey 70% of cybersecurity workers said that certifications were their most important training. Only 10% of respondents said they had a bachelor’s or master’s degree, while 5% said they had a combination.

How can I get trained in just five weeks?
Microsoft and the Computing Technology Industry Association, (CompTIA), are internationally recognized industry representatives who developed the Cyber Security IT Professional program curriculum, which is designed to complete your training in five weeks (or ten weeks if you choose evening classes). They also created the hands-on labs.
How can I get a job in Cybersecurity without a degree
CompTIA Cybersecurity+ and CompTIA Net+ are two of the most important certifications that you’ll need, if you’re new to cybersecurity. This is why: The DOD-8570 regulation is a lesser-known government regulation. (Technically, it has been updated to DOD-8140, but that uses the old DOD-8570 chart). You must hold at least one certification if you’re in a situation where sensitive government data might be available to you. CompTIA Security+ usually is the minimum certification required. This certification is requested by companies even if they will not work for the government. You should be able to get a job if you have these certifications.
