Is Cybersecurity a Good Career?
In the last six years, cybersecurity jobs have seen a 94% increase. You have the perfect time to get a career in cybersecurity if you are looking for a career that is always evolving and changing. Cybersecurity is an expanding industry that offers many different job opportunities and great career prospects. Cyberseek says there are almost 500k job openings. Clearwater, Tampa, St.Petersburg, and Clearwater have over 6,000 job vacancies. This means that cybersecurity professionals should always be in demand.
What gets you a job faster in cybersecurity-a degree or certifications
A degree in cybersecurity is more expensive than a certification and takes much longer. Although the degree gives you a broad understanding that can be used in many industries, it does not have as many hands-on skills.
A certification shows that you are able to demonstrate the skills employers require. There is also a legal requirement (see above). This is why 70% of cybersecurity workers believe that certifications are essential for their professional development. Only 10% said they had a bachelor’s and 5% said that they had a master’s.
How Much Can I Earn In A Cybersecurity Career?
On February 20, 2019, the average salary for cybersecurity professionals was $112974 in the United States. The average cybersecurity salary is between $65,000 (25th%) to $145,000. (75th%) Entry-level jobs typically offer lower salaries, but great work opportunities and greater responsibility.
How can I get trained in just 5 weeks?
Our Cyber Security IT Professional program is designed to do just that. The curriculum and hands-on labs are developed by Microsoft and the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) – globally recognized industry representatives.
How can I get a job in Cybersecurity without a degree
CompTIA Cybersecurity+ and CompTIA Net+ are two of the most important certifications that you’ll need, if you’re new to cybersecurity. This is because of a less-known government regulation, DOD-8570. Technically, it has been updated by DOD-8140 but still uses the DOD-8570 chart. The document states that you need to have at least one certification if you are in a job that could expose you to sensitive data. CompTIA Security+ is usually the minimum required. Even companies that do not work with government agencies are required to obtain this certification. If you get these certifications, the demand for your skills is very strong and you should have no problem getting placed.
How do I start this cybersecurity training program?
Are you unemployed? If so, you may be eligible for a WIOA Grant that could pay for your training and job placement assistance (yes, that means it might be free if you qualify!) Call now or book an appointment for us to call you.
