Cybersecurity is a growing industry with a lot of different jobs that offer ample opportunity for career growth. Cyberseek says there are almost 500k job openings. What gets you a job faster in cybersecurity-a degree or certifications
A degree in cybersecurity is more expensive than a certification and takes much longer. Although the degree gives you a broad understanding that can be used in many industries, it does not have as many hands-on skills.
You can demonstrate that you have the skill an employer is looking for by getting the right certification. You must also meet a legal requirement (see above). All this is why, according to the recent Information Week Dark Reading salary survey 70% of cybersecurity workers said that certifications were their most important training. Only 10% of respondents said they had a bachelor’s or master’s degree, while 5% said they had a combination.

How can I get trained in just 5 weeks?
Microsoft and CompTIA, internationally recognized industry leaders, created the Cyber Security IT Practitioner program curriculum and hands-on labs and is designed to be able to be completed in five weeks (or ten weeks if you choose evening classes).
How can I get a job in Cybersecurity without a degree
CompTIA Cybersecurity+ and CompTIA Net+ are two of the most important certifications that you’ll need, if you’re new to cybersecurity. This is because of a less-known government regulation, DOD-8570. Technically, it has been updated by DOD-8140 but still uses the DOD-8570 chart. The document states that you need to have at least one certification if you are in a job that could expose you to sensitive data. CompTIA Security+ is usually the minimum required. This certification is required by even companies that are not going to work with the government. You should be able to get a job if you have these certifications.
