Why Cybersecurity?
Over the past six years, cybersecurity jobs have increased by 94%. If you are looking for a career with a high degree of flexibility and change, then cybersecurity is the right career choice. There are many opportunities for career advancement in cybersecurity, which is a rapidly growing industry. Cyberseek estimates that there are nearly 500,000 job opportunities. In the Tampa / St.Petersburg / Clearwater job market, for instance, there are over 6,000 job openings. Cybersecurity professionals are always in high demand.
What do cybersecurity workers prefer-a degree or certifications?
While a certificate is cheaper than a degree in cybersecurity, it takes longer and costs more. The degree provides a broad range of understanding that can be applied to many different industries but has fewer hands-on skills.
A certification shows that you are able to demonstrate the skills employers require. You must also meet a legal requirement (see above). According to Information Week’s Dark Reading salary survey, 70% said that certifications are the most important training for their careers. Only 10% of respondents said they had a bachelor’s or master’s degree, while 5% said they had a combination.
How Much Can I Earn In A Cybersecurity Career?
On February 20, 2021, the average cybersecurity professional salary in America was $112974. The average cybersecurity salary ranges between $65,000 (25%%) and $145,000 (15%). How can I get trained in just 5 weeks?
Microsoft and the Computing Technology Industry Association, (CompTIA), are internationally recognized industry representatives who developed the Cyber Security IT Professional program curriculum, which is designed to complete your training in five weeks (or ten weeks if you choose evening classes). They also created the hands-on labs.
How can I get hired in Cybersecurity without a degree?
CompTIA Cybersecurity+ and CompTIA Net+ are two of the most important certifications that you’ll need, if you’re new to cybersecurity. This is because of a less-known government regulation, DOD-8570. It has been technically updated to DOD-8140. However, it still uses the DOD-8570 chart. It states that if you are in a position where you might be exposed to sensitive government data, then you must have at least one of the certifications they have listed for that position. CompTIA Security+ is usually the minimum required. Even companies that do not work with government agencies are required to obtain this certification. These certifications are highly desirable and will help you to be placed.
