Why Should I Train For Cybersecurity?
In the last six years, cybersecurity jobs have seen a 94% increase. If you’re looking for a career in cybersecurity, now is the right time. Cybersecurity is an expanding industry that offers many different job opportunities and great career prospects. Cyberseek says there are almost 500k job openings. Degree vs Certifications
While a certificate is cheaper than a degree in cybersecurity, it takes longer and costs more. Although the degree gives you a broad understanding that can be used in many industries, it does not have as many hands-on skills.
The right certification demonstrates that you have a specific skill the employer wants. The law also requires you to have the right certification (see above). All this is why, according to the recent Information Week Dark Reading salary survey 70% of cybersecurity workers said that certifications were their most important training. Only 10% of respondents said they had a bachelor’s or master’s degree, while 5% said they had a combination.
How Much Can I Make In A Cybersecurity Career?
The average salary of cybersecurity professionals was $112974 in the United States on February 20, 2021. The average cybersecurity salary is between $65,000 (25th%) to $145,000. (75th%) Entry-level jobs typically offer lower salaries, but great work opportunities and greater responsibility.
Can I really finish the training in 5 weeks?
Our Cyber Security IT Professional program is designed to do just that. The curriculum and hands-on labs are developed by Microsoft and the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) – globally recognized industry representatives.
How can I get hired in Cybersecurity without a degree?
CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Network+ are the most crucial certifications you’ll need if cybersecurity is your first topic. Here is why: There is a little-known government regulation called DOD-8570. Technically, it has been updated by DOD-8140 but still uses the DOD-8570 chart. The document states that you need to have at least one certification if you are in a job that could expose you to sensitive data. Typically the minimum asked for is CompTIA Security+. This certification is required by even companies that are not going to work with the government. These certifications are highly desirable and will help you to be placed.
